Olive TreeThe olive tree in the Sahara desert grows in the middle of it between 1400 and 2800m in altitude. In order to adapt to the Sahara it had to adapt the harsh arid conditions. To preserve this tree they have developed a reproductive system in the course of time. It reproduces through vegetative or clonal growth. The way it survives in the Sahara is it grows near the bank of the river aka the Nile. |
African Peyote CactusThe cactus has very thick stems helping it store water for a long time. The cactus leaves later turn into thick stems. The stems prevent it from evaporating of water from the leaves. Without these leaves the cacti will die much quicker since there is not a lot of rain there.

AcaciaThe Tree’s feathery leaves prevents the hot winds from damaging the bark. If there isn’t any rain theirs is a good chance that the leaves won’t grow which sucks since rain only comes once a year. The acacias bark makes tannin which is used for tanning leather. Most Sahara desert acacias grow where there is at least 1 of rain per year.
