Conclusion

Today, deserts are all slowly shrinking due to human population an surprisingly, global warming. As the ice cap shrinks from global warming, the normally dry air in the desert becomes more humid and increases the heat drastically, killing many plants. And many animals that needed to take decades to adapt to this biome are being displaced by losing their habitats. Since many of them cannot adapt fast enough to the changes to their biome, they soon start to die out. A few examples of Saharan animals dying out because of losing their habitats are the addax antelope, horned viper, and egyptian tortoise. As the predator prey graph shows us, once their isn't enough prey, the predators also die out. Many North Africans depend on the wildlife in the Sahara Desert to survive. Without those animals, people may start to die out too.

The SCF or the Sahara Conservation Fund are saving endangered animals in the desert and raising awareness of the importance and impact the desert has on the world, they are also finding ways we can benefit from the Sahara without killing the desert quickly. A way to save deserts is also to use less energy. Simple steps like carpooling and walking/biking around are great ways to slow down the effects of global warming. By saving the ice caps, you also save the desert (and the world).
